JEAA AGM 2023

The Association held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 21st June, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Le Hocq Suite. The meeting was attended by 32 member agents and 2 speakers and started with two short presentations.
JEAA President, Nick Dodsley introduced the speakers -Barry Faudemer from Baker Regulatory and Alex Farrow from T&G.
Barry discussed the AML/CFT regulatory risks within the property industry as well as sanctions. Certain case studies were discussed which brought home the importance of reporting suspicious activity to the appropriate agencies.
Alex discussed what his firm could offer in terms of reports and surveys and discussed general issues such as movement, subsidence and cracking in buildings and how a vendor could take initial advice before putting their property on the market, thus saving time and avoiding delaying the selling process.
The AGM followed with the President thanking those attending and welcoming the Association's new member firm - Spiffy.
The President gave an overview of the work the Association has carried out since last year's AGM, and mentioned the next event - a training day in September which will be open to all members.
The meeting concluded at 5 pm and food and drinks were served.
